Dalgety Bay on the north coast of the Firth of Forth takes its name from the former town of Dalgety, the only remains of which are the ruins of the 12th century St Bridget's Kirk. Scotland's first private enterprise new town dates from just 1962, and was built on the estates surrounding Donibristle House. Dalgety Bay has excellent links to the rest of Fife and to Edinburgh via the Forth Rail Bridge and Forth Road Bridge, with a railway station near Hillend. This active and thriving community has a rich variety of clubs and societies and s1dalgetybay.com has been developed to allow residents to share their news, views and opinions, make announcements, publicise events and display photos and videos.
